Job summary

The Park Slope Armory YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, is seeking a Fitness Center Coach to oversee fitness areas and deliver excellent hospitality, ensuring a positive and safe user experience.

Key responsibilities include guiding members on equipment use, maintaining cleanliness, and staying current with certifications and branch procedures. Availability for varied shifts and a focus on member engagement are required.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications are required.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends is needed.
• Knowledge of health, wellness, and strength foundations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide orientation and instruction on proper usage of fitness equipment to members.
• Offer outstanding hospitality to all members and guests and address their needs and questions.
• Assist members in effectively utilizing fitness equipment and programs.
• Monitor fitness areas to ensure compliance with YMCA policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the fitness center and report issues.
