Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Youth Coach/Trainer at the Park Slope Armory YMCA in Brooklyn. The role focuses on leading a group of children/teens, delivering progressive sport skill development, and promoting a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable athletic environment.

The position requires at least a high school diploma, two years of coaching experience with youth, and current First Aid/CPR certification. Saturday evening availability is expected, with YMCA values guiding daily activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years coaching children/teens in a structured setting.
• Current First Aid or CPR certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Develop age-appropriate, progressive practice plans and lessons.
• Supervise players to ensure safety and engagement; foster teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Communicate schedules, progress, and opportunities with parents/guardians.
• Lead program promotion and assist with volunteer supervision when needed.
