Job summary

Waialae Country Club, a private members club in Hawaii, seeks a Fitness Center Attendant to support the fitness center operations and member experience. Responsibilities include assisting with inquiries, safely guiding equipment use, and helping with class setup and openings/closings.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 1 year of related experience, and a Certified Personal Trainer with CPR/AED certification. Flexibility for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service by engaging with members/guests and ensuring their needs are met.
• Assists with fitness center inquiries by phone and email.
• Assists members/guests with proper and safe use of fitness equipment.
• Informs members/guests about fitness center policies and procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness of fitness center and equipment; performs opening and closing duties.
• Assists with setting up and breaking down fitness equipment for group classes.
• Maintains a safe workout environment and reports incidents to management.
• Provides personal training sessions as assigned by the Director of Fitness.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service by engaging with members/guests and ensuring their needs are met.
• Assists with answering fitness center related inquiries, including over the phone and via email.
• Assists members/guests with proper and safe use of fitness equipment.
• Informs members/guests about fitness center policies and procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness of fitness center and equipment. Performs opening and closing duties.
• Assists with setting-up and breaking-down fitness equipment for various group class workouts.
• Maintains a safe workout environment and promptly reports incidents to management.
• Provides personal training sessions to members as assigned by the Director of Fitness.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/experience. Must be a Certified Personal Trainer to provide Personal Training.
• Knowledge of fitness equipment and safe equipment use.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with members and guests.
• Must have nationally recognized CPR/AED certification.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Starting Pay Rate

$20.00 per hour. This position is eligible for additional pay when providing personal training.
