Waialae Country Club is seeking a Fitness Center Attendant to greet members, assist with equipment, and uphold safety standards. The role requires energy, professionalism, and a proactive service mindset.

The position offers full-time hours (35-40 per week), with opportunities to provide personal training under the Director of Fitness. Benefits include health coverage, holidays, and golf privileges, in a dynamic club setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year related experience or training.
• Certified Personal Trainer is required to provide personal training.
• CPR/AED certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Engage with members/guests to deliver excellent service and meet their needs.
• Answer fitness center inquiries by phone or email in a professional manner.
• Assist members with safe and proper use of fitness equipment.
• Educate members about fitness center policies and procedures.
• Keep the fitness center clean and perform opening/closing duties.
• Set up and break down equipment for group classes as needed.
• Maintain a safe workout environment and report incidents to management.
• Provide personal training sessions as assigned by the Director of Fitness.

Job description

Position: Fitness Center Attendant

Status: Full-Time (35-40 hours per week)

Department: Fitness Center

Reports to: Director of Fitness

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent service by engaging with members/guests and ensuring their needs are met.
• Assists with answering fitness center related inquiries, including over the phone and via email.
• Assists members/guests with proper and safe use of fitness equipment.
• Informs members/guests about fitness center policies and procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness of fitness center and equipment. Performs opening and closing duties.
• Assists with setting-up and breaking-down fitness equipment for various group class workouts.
• Maintains a safe workout environment and promptly reports incidents to management.
• Provides personal training sessions to members as assigned by the Director of Fitness.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma and one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/experience. Must be a Certified Personal Trainer to provide Personal Training.
• Knowledge of fitness equipment and safe equipment use.

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with members and guests.
• Must have nationally recognized CPR/AED certification.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Starting Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour. This position is eligible for additional pay when providing personal training.
