Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf is seeking a Part Time Attendant, Fitness for Trilogy at Lake Frederick in Northern Virginia. You will assist the fitness team, deliver courteous service to members, and help maintain equipment and cleanliness across the fitness and locker areas.

The role requires 1–3 years in customer service or hospitality, familiarity with fitness club operations, and good communication skills. Evening and weekend availability is required; benefits include insurance, PTO, holidays,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to three years’ direct customer service and hospitality experience required.
• One to three years’ health and fitness related work experience preferred.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledgeable in fitness club operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the BlueStar Experience for members and guests by modeling standards and policies.
• Operate as part of a team handling daily operations, opening/closing, inspections and stocking.
• Maintain and organize equipment in Fitness and Locker Room areas.
• Replenish towels and keep Fitness stations neat and clean.
• Demonstrate proper use of fitness equipment and assist members.
• Welcome and check-in members and guests at the front desk with excellent service.
• Provide feedback to managers on customer satisfaction.
• Develop knowledge of Fitness services and promote them to members and guests.
• Other duties as assigned.

• New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
• Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Position Overview

The Attendant, Fitness assists the fitness staff to execute courteous service to members in the fitness area. This position reports to the Wellness Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the BlueStar Experience for members and guests by modeling and maintaining the standards set in the BlueStar 10 and adhering to BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) and facility policies.
• Operate as part of a team handling daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, facility inspections and stocking, along with communicating facility maintenance needs.
• Maintenance and organization of equipment in Fitness and Locker Room areas.
• Replenishes supply of clean towels in Fitness and Locker Rooms throughout the shift.
• Inspects and maintains Fitness stations for neatness and cleanliness.
• Demonstrates function of Fitness equipment, proper use and techniques
• Welcome and provide a check-in for members and guests at the front desk, providing exceptional customer service and a desire to satisfy all customer inquiries and follow up.
• Provide feedback to managers about customer satisfaction and concerns to improve the overall operations.
• Develop in depth knowledge of all Fitness services and products, with the ability to promote them with enthusiasm to members and guests, and support them in making choices for their wellbeing.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to three years’ direct customer service and hospitality experience required.

• Knowledgeable in fitness club operations.
• Skilled in attentive customer service and calmly responding to guest concerns.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions, and percentages.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff members, guests, and the community association.
• Must demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Work Environment

This position operates indoors and routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
