Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf is seeking an Attendant, Fitness to assist the fitness staff in delivering courteous service to members in the fitness area. You will report to the Wellness Director and be part of a team handling daily operations.

The role requires 1–3 years of customer service/fitness experience, strong communication, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a valid driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–3 years of direct customer service and hospitality experience required.
  • 1–3 years of health and fitness related work experience preferred.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledgeable in fitness club operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the BlueStar Experience for members and guests by modeling and maintaining the standards set in the BlueStar 10 and adhering to BlueStar Resort & Golf policies.
  • Operate as part of a team handling daily operations, including opening/closing, facility inspections and stocking, and communicating maintenance needs.
  • Maintain and organize equipment in Fitness and Locker Room areas.
  • Replenish supply of clean towels in Fitness and Locker Rooms during shift.
  • Inspect and maintain Fitness stations for neatness and cleanliness.
  • Demonstrate function of Fitness equipment and proper techniques.
  • Welcome and check-in members and guests at front desk with exceptional customer service.
  • Provide feedback to managers about customer satisfaction and concerns to improve operations.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Fitness services and products to promote them to members/guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Treasure Valley Social Club lies within the master plan of Valor and boasts a fitness center, pools, and the signature restaurant, River Six. Each space was built with intent and meant for relaxation, exercise, and socializing.

Where: Southwest of downtown Boise, Idaho, in the Treasure Valley area

Pay: $18 per hour

Benefits:
  • New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
  • Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
  • Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
  • Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.
  • All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.
POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Attendant, Fitness assists the fitness staff to execute courteous service to members in the fitness area. This position reports to the Wellness Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the BlueStar Experience for members and guests by modeling and maintaining the standards set in the BlueStar 10 and adhering to BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) and facility policies.
  • Operate as part of a team handling daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, facility inspections and stocking, along with communicating facility maintenance needs.
  • Maintenance and organization of equipment in Fitness and Locker Room areas.
  • Replenishes supply of clean towels in Fitness and Locker Rooms throughout the shift.
  • Inspects and maintains Fitness stations for neatness and cleanliness.
  • Demonstrates function of Fitness equipment, proper use and techniques
  • Welcome and provide a check-in for members and guests at the front desk, providing exceptional customer service and a desire to satisfy all customer inquiries and follow up.
  • Provide feedback to managers about customer satisfaction and concerns to improve the overall operations.
  • Develop in depth knowledge of all Fitness services and products, with the ability to promote them with enthusiasm to members and guests, and support them in making choices for their wellbeing.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three years’ direct customer service and hospitality experience required.
  • One to three years’ of health and fitness related work experience preferred.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledgeable in fitness club operations.
  • Skilled in attentive customer service and calmly responding to guest concerns.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions, and percentages.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff members, guests, and the community association.
  • Must demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates indoors and routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
