• Assist with planning and prep of group fitness classes and events, including registration and staff recruitment.
• Assist with planning and programming across Campus Recreation.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Fitness Assistant position, reporting to the Associate Directorof Instructional & Wellness Programming, will be responsiblefor contributing to the ongoing success of the Student RecreationCenter, focusing on fitness and wellness operations, programcoordination, and staff supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a collegiate recreation facility,specifically in a leadership capacity
• Familiarity with university and recreation software, includingFusion and WhenToWork
• American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detailskills

Job Duties

• Coordinate training and scheduling for fitness and wellnessstaff, including upwards to 25 student staff members -(Essential)
• Maintain equipment inventory database, monitoring quantity,expected lifespan, maintenance history, and usage -(Essential)
• Assist with the planning and preparation of group fitnessclasses and fitness events, focusing on registration, staffrecruitment, and special events - (Essential)
