Tradition Golf Club is a special place. We are known for our golf, our beauty, history and warm and friendly members. Tradition offers an 18-hole course, 9-hole par 3 course, practice facilities, over 100 member and family events, full fitness facility, spa services, bocce ball, pickleball and many enriched programs and fun social events.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Fitness Assistant position reports directly to the Fitness & Spa Director. The Fitness Assistant is responsible for the development, organization, and coordination of any and every member need while working the front desk. The Fitness Assistant is also responsible for the health and well-being of the members and other staff, with a focus on maintaining a safe and sanitary facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Arrives for their shift on time and properly dressed, with impeccable grooming
- Greets each and every guest by proper name with a smile and direct eye contact
- Shares responsibility with colleagues and staff in cleaning all equipment and areas of the Fitness Department. Strictly follows the sanitization plan designed by the manager
- Assists the Fitness Director in any required fitness/spa-related tasks, at the discretion of the Director
- Is familiar with ALL equipment of the facility and is proactive in assisting members, guests, and other staff in adjusting/setting up said equipment
- Goes the extra mile for members and guests by offering to make reservations, find directions, look up phone numbers, etc.
- Ensures the Tradition Golf Club experience for all members and guests
- Enrolls members and guests in group fitness classes and special events. Makes reservations for spa services and personal training, when applicable
- Adheres to the policies of the facility and Tradition Golf Club
- Develops and maintains accurate department maintenance procedures and checklists through routine preventative maintenance and repair
- Maintains a monthly inventory of supplies and or products, when applicable
- Become knowledgeable about the facility, event calendar, and club amenities in order to effectively communicate with members and/or guests
- Helps ensure facility is only accessed by Tradition members and/or guests, and that it is safe and secure at all times
- Reports any incident or accident to the Fitness & Spa Director and draws up a report to be signed by involved witnesses
- Uses time efficiently throughout shift by checking equipment, locker rooms, inventory, etc. Ensures proper coverage when it's necessary to leave the area
- Keeps area clear of clutter and personal effects
- Informs co-worker(s) of pertinent information at the end of the shift
- Inform the Fitness & Spa Director of any member, guest, or facility issues
- Handles tickets to charge members correctly and files receipts accordingly
- Receives payments for merchandise and services and properly accounts for the money if applicable with CC paperwork. Reconciles daily sales, deposits, and receipts, when applicable
- Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain the facility and prepare for special events
- Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers
- Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
- Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers
- Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working in a wellness/fitness setting would be an asset but not a requirement.
Education and/or Experience
- CPR/AED Certified (Preferred)
- Possess a valid Driver's License (Preferred)
Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities
- Familiar with fitness equipment, machines, and cable TVs (Preferred)
- Familiar with Spa services and Fitness Offerings (classes, hikes, etc.) (Preferred)
- Familiar with Microsoft Word and Jonas (Preferred)
- Previous customer service experience (preferred)
