Job summary

Tradition Golf Club in La Quinta, CA is seeking a Host to deliver an exceptional hospitality experience and manage the flow of the restaurant during peak times.

You will greet members and guests, take phone reservations, coordinate front desk operations, reset tables, maintain cleanliness, and collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth service. This seasonal, full-time/part-time role runs roughly Oct 2026 through Jun 2027 with busy periods around holidays and events.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; hospitality or service industry experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate ethical conduct and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet members/guests and ensure a smooth dining experience.
• Take phone reservations and requests professionally.
• Control the host desk and communicate wait times to guests.
• Reset and clear tables; maintain the front desk operation.
• Provide menus and assist guests with seating arrangements.
• Maintain cleanliness and setup of the dining area and desk.
• Follow health, safety, and fire safety procedures and training.

As a seasonal private club, we are looking to fill a full-time or part-time position from approximately October 2026 to June 2027. our busiest times are also some of our most exciting. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Host at Tradition Golf Club is responsible for delivering an excellent hospitality experience by maintaining the overall flow of the restaurant. They provide a positive and professional first and last impression to every guest. In the event there is a wait time, quote an accurate wait time and answer any questions the guest may have.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following:

• Greet members/guests and to ensure their dining experience is a smooth and memorable experience.
• Take phone reservations and requests when required in a professional and courteous manner.
• Effectively control the host desk and communicate with guests regarding their reservation, wait time, and any walk-in customers.
• Reset and clear tables.
• Ensure smooth operation of the front desk.
• Pay attention to the minutest details during the time you are with the members/guests.
• Show guests to the table or bar.
• Set up, maintain, and clean the desk.
• Comply with all health & safety and Fire safety procedures and attend all required training
• Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
• Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments
• Provide members/guests with menus
• Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
• Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and to respond to complaints
• Maintain contact with Kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers' concerns are addressed
• Inform patrons of establishment specialties and features
• Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service
• Assist in planning functions or other special events and services
• Participate in scheduled departmental and administrative meetings as requested
• Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers
• Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
• Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers
• Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
