Job summary

A wellness-focused company in Bluffton, OH is seeking a full-time Fitness and Wellness Program Specialist to improve the quality of life for older adults. Responsibilities include educating residents about fitness programs, developing customized fitness plans, and promoting enrollment in the Well-Being program. Candidates should possess group or personal training certifications and experience working with seniors. The position is on-site with no remote work options.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.

  • Confidently lead aquatic fitness classes.
  • Must be able to lead aquatic fitness classes confidently and safely.
  • A passion for promoting wellness and engagement among older adults is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide education on the benefits of the Well-Being program.
  • Increase program enrollment by promoting services.
  • Develop customized fitness programs based on guidelines.
  • Complete enrollment and medical screening processes for each participant.
  • Schedule and conduct Risk of Fall assessments, and CDC STEADI questionnaire.
  • Develop customized fitness programs for residents based on ACSM guidelines.
  • Teach/Provide standardized group exercise classes and specialty programs based on current ACSM/AHA guidelines and Symbria Well-Being Operating Standards.
  • Work with the Symbria Rehab therapy team to coordinate the transition to and from therapy and Well-Being.
  • Reassess participants on a semi-annual basis and provide ongoing feedback to participants to ensure proper interventions.
  • Where applicable, provide appropriate instruction and orientation to participants on proper use of center equipment.
  • Achieve/exceed Symbria’s established performance benchmarks.

Overview

Do you have a passion for fitness and look to impact the lives of the older adult population? If so, our Well-Being program at Maple Crest Senior Living in Bluffton, OH is seeking its next full-time employee-owner team member. This position is on-site with no possibility for remote or hybrid work!

Position Summary

As the Fitness and Wellness Program Specialist, you will work closely with the residents of the community to improve the overall quality of their life. Symbria’s Well-Being program focuses on providing strategies, programs, and services to older adults, enabling them to prolong their independence. Our group exercise classes, and educational sessions are based on guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine, the Centers for Disease Control, and the National Institutes of Health. We offer advanced artificial intelligence (AI) balance assessment technology and develop customized fitness programs to the needs of each individual participant.

Responsibilities

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide education to residents and staff of client communities on the benefits of Symbria’s Well-Being program.
  • Increase program enrollment by actively promoting Symbria’s services.
  • Act as program liaison to designated client committees.
  • Any and all duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform successfully in this role, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Group/personal training certifications AND/OR Bachelor’s degree related to fitness required.
  • Experience working with seniors or the geriatric population is required.
  • Prior sales and marketing experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to lead aquatic fitness classes confidently and safely.
  • A passion for promoting wellness and engagement among older adults is essential.
