Job summary
Civicworks seeks an Associate Research Scientist to conduct research, monitoring, and analysis of crustacean and molluscan fisheries, including life history, ecology, and population dynamics. The role involves data analysis, field sampling, database management, and supervision of staff in fishery-independent monitoring programs.
The incumbent will work with internal and external stakeholders and maintain current knowledge of scientific techniques and literature.
Qualifications
- 8 years professional experience in a closely-related biological field or equivalent education/experience combination
- Proficiency in analyses of biological, fisheries, and life history data
- Proficiency in spatial analyses using ESRI products
- Experience automating reports and database technologies
- Ability to supervise staff and lead field teams during scientific sampling
- Skill with marine vessels up to 25 feet and ability to perform strenuous field duties in adverse conditions
