Job summary

aisobservers is seeking a Fisheries Field Operations Coordinator to support NOAA’s mission in sustainable fisheries management. This full-time role emphasizes scientific and field coordination for fishing gear technology and ecosystem studies.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree and has significant experience in fisheries research, data management, and outreach. The position is based in Pascagoula, MS, and is associated with the Southeast Fisheries Science Center’s Pascagoula Laboratory.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in marine biology, fisheries science, or related field with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in fisheries research including field data collection.
• Knowledge of commercial fishing gear in the Southeast U.S. and Gulf of Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project and field coordinator for Harvesting Unit research activities.
• Collect biological and fisheries data during field operations.
• Conduct statistical analyses and produce technical summaries.
