Job summary

Atlantic Offshore Fishery in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ is seeking a skilled Fish Case Worker to join our seafood team. You will stock, display, and maintain a fresh fish case, and assist customers with selections and preparation tips.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of fresh fish varieties, strong knife skills, and a solid understanding of food safety and proper temperature control. Availability for early mornings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fresh fish varieties, handling and preparation.

• Reliable and punctual; able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Stock, arrange, and maintain an attractive and well-organized fresh fish display case


• Monitor product freshness, rotation, and proper icing of all seafood items


• Assist customers with seafood selection, preparation tips, and product knowledge


• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in the seafood department


• Operate and clean seafood department equipment including slicers, scales, and knives

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a seafood department, fish market, or related food service role preferred


• Knowledge of fresh fish and seafood varieties, handling, and preparation techniques


• Strong knife skills and comfort with filleting and portioning seafood


• Understanding of food safety regulations and proper temperature control (ServSafe a plus)


• Excellent customer service and communication skills


• Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
