$3,477.00 - $4,632.00 Monthly.
The indicated salary does not include a 3% general wage increase effective July 1st, 2025.

The Opportunity

We need your fiscal experience on our Regional Operations Center (ROC) team in Downtown Seattle to assist with administering, processing, and record-keeping involved with payroll time and attendance. As a Fiscal Specialist 1, you will process fiscal calculations, reconciliations, audits, and entries of time and attendance information for all DCYF staff in Regions 3 & 4. This position requires extensive knowledge of CBAs, DCYF, and Administrative policies and Procedures, review of time and attendance program implementations, and participation in the development of DCYF Payroll Time and Attendance policy and procedures.

Some of what you will do
  1. Process bi-monthly time, leave, and attendance, entering all time from the statewide Leave Tracker and Human Resource Management System (HRMS) payroll system.
  2. Conduct audits, analysis, and reconciliation of payroll and attendance records.
  3. Provide support with Field Offices and DCYF Payroll office for time and attendance issues.
  4. Conduct compliance reviews, exercising independent judgment to verify and apply rules and regulations.
  5. Provide consultation and technical assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees on the use and processing of leave, including Leave Tracker.
  6. Work with managers to problem solve time and attendance source document issues and to take corrective action when necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • Equivalent education and experience totaling three (3) years.

OR

  • Three (3) years fiscal record keeping experience that may include Human Resource Management System (HRMS) or Leave Tracker systems experience.
Additional Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Management System or Leave Tracker or similar.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices and the ability to apply practical accounting techniques.
  • Ability to use data and information in a clear and rational thought process to assess and understand issues, evaluate options, and form accurate conclusions.
  • Ability to process large quantities of fiscal data with consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Ability to prioritize and be flexible to meet payment and report deadlines.
  • Ability to optimize limited resources and support the organizational goals.
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality.
