General Summary:
Management position under the general supervision of the Director of Fiscal Services; participates in policy making and program development with other administrative personnel; assists in directing, planning, and organizing County wide financial management, reporting, and accounting functions; supports the Director of Fiscal Services ensuring compliance with accounting rules, laws, and reporting; supports internal control of financial transactions, financial activities across the organization and assists including training of County department’s employees in managing finances at a department level; responsible for database management and security of financial management and accounting system. Act on behalf of the Director of Fiscal Services when needed; makes recommendations on improvements to financial and accounting functions across the organization to enhance the effectiveness and accuracy of reporting. Provide financial analyses of administrative operations along with budget recommendations that support the findings of the analysis.
Employment Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with coursework in accounting, finance, public or business administration or a field related to the work.
Experience: Three years of progressively more responsible professional level experience in a large fund accounting system, which included experience with grant preparation, budget preparation, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, data processing, and database administration. Supervisory experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver’s License.
