Job summary

The Department of Environmental Quality in Montana is seeking a Fiscal Section Supervisor within the Water Quality Division. This role oversees day-to-day fiscal operations, budgets, and contracts, supporting four bureaus with funding from State Special Revenue, Federal Grants, and General Fund.

You will lead a team to implement the department's mission to protect environmental quality, promote efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field that includes direct experience in accounting or management.
  • Education or experience in a related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible accounting or budgeting, or directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading people is required, although this may be from roles other than formal supervisory experience.
  • Experience in government accounting and budgeting is preferred (including Statewide Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resources System (SABHRS) and IBARS).
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This includes supporting four bureaus with various funding sources such as State Special Revenue, Federal Grants, and General Fund. . The Fiscal Section Supervisor oversees division-wide fiscal operations supporting the division's programs and activities to ensure they are carried out efficiently and effectively.
