Position Overview: As a Float Pool Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), you will provide a range of services to engage, support, and coach parents, children, and youth within the child welfare system. This dynamic role requires flexibility, as you will rotate between multiple locations, offering support to sites experiencing high demand or in the process of being established. Your primary focus will be to build rapport with children and youth while implementing targeted interventions to enhance their well-being and stability during transitional periods.

This role requires strong independent problem-solving skills, as you will often be working autonomously in new or high-need environments. Additionally, travel will be required for assignments lasting on average between two weeks and one month within a designated region. Despite the travel demands, QMHPs are still expected to bill a minimum of 30 hours per week.

This position will report to the Float Pool Coordinator and will have a designed Home Location (Dallas or Houston) in between Float Pool Assignments).

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a representative of the WCG Team at designated locations, particularly when launching new sites or providing additional staffing support.
  • Engage and collaborate with agencies, guardians, children, and youth within the child welfare system.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and youth to promote their personal growth and functional development.
  • Deliver goal-directed interventions aimed at stabilizing children and youth during transitions.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate progress notes, ensuring completion within 24 hours of each session.
  • Provide a comprehensive handoff and transition plan to ensure continuity of care, ensuring assigned QMHPs and agencies remain fully informed.
  • Demonstrate strong independent problem-solving skills, adapting to new environments, caseloads, and agency structures with minimal supervision.
  • Travel within the assigned region for periods of 2 weeks to 1 month per assignment, ensuring seamless support and transition assistance.
  • Maintain consistent productivity, billing 30-40 hours per week despite varying locations and travel commitments.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a QMHP.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, including:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively in varied and sometimes challenging environments.
