Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely is seeking a First Year Experience Coordinator/Recruiter. This role combines recruitment across the Rangely region with designing orientation and first-year programs that help new students feel confident and connected from day one.

You'll partner with faculty and Student Affairs to guide inquiry-to-second-semester transitions, monitor early alerts, and support students through a successful start in rural Colorado.

• Associates degree, or experience in education, counseling, or a closely related field.

Your Scope and Responsibilities

• Drive recruitment activity across the Rangely region - visiting high schools, attending community events, and building lasting relationships with prospective students and their families
• Design and coordinate new student orientation and first year programming that builds confidence, community, and a clear path forward
• Monitor early-alert signals and proactively connect at-risk first year students with the right support services
• Collaborate with faculty, advising, and Student Affairs colleagues to create a cohesive transition experience from inquiry through to second semester

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Associates degree, or experience in education, counseling, or a closely related field
• Providing outstanding customer service and an interest in helping students reach their potential especially in recruitment, first year programs, or college transition support
• A genuine interest in helping prospective students navigate college for the first time
• Strong communication skills across in-person, digital, and community settings - including confidence presenting to groups
• Ability to manage competing priorities across a full recruitment and academic calendar without dropping the ball on either
• Understanding of the unique needs of students served by rural community colleges in Colorado
