Job summary

BorgWarner in Seneca, South Carolina, is seeking a qualified technician to diagnose, repair and disassemble transfer cases and related products to support quality issue resolution and scrap reduction.

You will observe operation, dismantle and replace defective parts, document evaluation data, and work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of safety procedures. Experience with SAP, Excel, and general shop software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED; 6 months of quality related experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Observes products in operation to locate causes of trouble/abnormalities.
• Dismantles products to identify and remove defective parts.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts; lubricates and cleans as needed.
• Evaluate rejects and determine root cause; enter data into evaluation spreadsheets.

Position Summary

Diagnoses, repairs and disassembles transfer cases and other products to help diagnosis quality issues and reduce scrap.

Standard Duties

• Observes products in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble/abnormalities.
• Dismantles products to identify and remove any defective parts.
• Process defective part through nonconforming material procedure Inspect good components to verify they are conforming and able to be returned to the assembly line.
• Repairs or replaces any defective parts.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Evaluate rejects and determine root cause.
• Enter evaluation data into spreadsheet to create a report including FTQT Log and FPY spreadsheet.

Safety, Health and Physical Requirements

• Stand for long periods of time including during operation of stand up lifts.
• Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs repetitively.
• Stepping up and down off lift; walking long distances over extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Working in a non-climate controlled environment.
• Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to box cutting, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.

Education & Experience
