Job summary

BorgWarner in Seneca, SC seeks a hands-on technician to diagnose, repair and disassemble transfer cases to support quality goals and reduce scrap. You will observe equipment, dismantle parts, replace defective components, lubricate and document results in SAP/Excel.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED; 6 months quality related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small groups.
  • Responds well to questions and participates in meetings.
  • Presents numerical data and can read and interpret written information.
  • Knowledge of SAP Inventory software; Excel and Word Processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Observes products in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles products to identify and remove defective parts.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts and lubricates/cleans components.
  • Enter evaluation data into spreadsheet and create reports (FTQT/FPY).
  • Follow safety policies and procedures and work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description Position Summary

Diagnoses, repairs and disassembles transfer cases and other products to help diagnosis quality issues and reduce scrap.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Standard Duties
  • Observes products in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble/abnormalities.
  • Dismantles products to identify and remove any defective parts.
  • Process defective part through nonconforming material procedure Inspect good components to verify they are conforming and able to be returned to the assembly line.
  • Repairs or replaces any defective parts.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Evaluate rejects and determine root cause.
  • Enter evaluation data into spreadsheet to create a report including FTQT Log and FPY spreadsheet.
Safety, Health and Physical Requirements
  • Stand for long periods of time including during operation of stand up lifts.
  • Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs repetitively.
  • Stepping up and down off lift; walking long distances over extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Working in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to box cutting, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED 6 months of quality related experience preferred.
