Job summary

thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc. is seeking a first shift setup welder in Milwaukee, WI. You will fit and weld fabricated components into machinery frames and shells from mild and stainless steel up to 5 inches thick, reading engineering drawings and tolerances.

Responsibilities include layout, welding, and inspection, with overtime as needed. A high school diploma or GED plus 2 years of related experience is required. Strong emphasis on safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED with 2 years related experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings with tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up components by layout, fitting, welding, and cleaning to create finished weldments.
• Perform flux core and submerged arc welding.
• Inspect own work for quality and accuracy.
• Operate cranes, forklifts and hand tools as required.
• Adhere to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
