Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience welding with flux core or solid wire.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints.
• Familiarity with welding symbols and tolerances.
• Ability to troubleshoot welding equipment and perform basic repairs.
• Ability to train lower level welders (Welder 3).

Responsibilities

• Weld, position, align and fit steel components according to drawings and blueprints.
• Ensure welds meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Operate shop tools and welding equipment safely.
• Perform basic fitting, cutting, grinding and drilling as needed.
• Identify and correct unsatisfactory welds and non-conformities.
• Interpret heat affected zone and material behavior in welds.
