Basic Job Functions:

The responsibilities of the Production Lead include but are not limited to: being a positive member of the leadership team at NTSIN, being an active participant with developing teammates within our culture, monitoring machine loading to ensure proper flow of product throughout the department, as well as overseeing and training teammates on the line. This position is also responsible for communicating information to other departments and teammates as it relates to production. The Production Lead is responsible for establishing and setting the production pace, maintaining efficiency, and ensuring quality on the line. Additional responsibilities will include filling in for other positions on the line, and for the Supervisor, as necessary.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software programs
  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in steel manufacturing or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in leadership role
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of experience and title
  • Ability to be flexible on schedule
  • High school graduate or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of tower fabrication processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of blast and coat process experience
  • Understanding and experience in D365 or other ERP systems
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment
  • Material Handling to include crane operations and standard yard equipment
  • Bi-lingual or ability to learn if necessary
