Job summary

Interstate Packaging Company in Springfield, TN is seeking a Slitter/Rewind Operator for the 1st shift to set up and run the designated machine, ensuring product quality and adherence to safety rules. You will train new employees and follow GMP-like standards in a fast-paced packaging environment.

Responsibilities include reading job jackets, performing quality checks, communicating with supervision, cleaning work areas, maintaining line clearance, and using measurement tools.

Qualifications

• Must have previous manufacturing or mechanical experience.
• Must be quality conscious and detail oriented.
• Must be able to see true color (not colorblind).
• Must be able to lift 50–75 lb and handle 100–300 lb with assistance.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the slitter/rewinder per job order.
• Read and interpret job jackets and orders; maintain line clearance.
• Perform quality checks and ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, oncoming shift, and management.
• Clean and organize the rewind area and assist with end-of-shift procedures.
