Job summary

IDEX is hiring an In-Process Inspector / Process Auditor for the 1st shift on site in Farmington, CT. The role focuses on ensuring product and process integrity within a cleanroom manufacturing environment, with opportunities to grow into process auditing and advanced quality functions.

The position requires reading engineering drawings, ISO-based quality knowledge, and strong data analysis, with hands-on inspection on the production floor and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Experience in manufacturing inspection or quality assurance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of ISO-based quality systems.
• Proficiency with common inspection tools and measurement equipment.
• Understanding of measurement systems, uncertainty, and inspection bias.
• Familiarity with basic data analysis, trending, and SPC concepts.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections per drawings, specifications, and control plans.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final verifications to ensure quality.
• Maintain inspection integrity through proper handling and objective evidence.
• Capture and record inspection data for defect tracking and trend analysis.
• Identify nonconformances and initiate containment actions; escalate as needed.
• Conduct routine process audits to confirm adherence to standards.
• Evaluate production operations against procedures and specifications.
• Document audit findings with objective, traceable evidence; ensure corrective actions.
