Job summary

Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is hiring a 1st shift Production - Supervisor to lead a 20–30 person production team, manage daily operations, and ensure quality and timeliness.

The shift runs 4:30 AM–2:30 PM, Monday–Friday, reporting to the Plant Manager. Key duties include enforcing safety and ISO standards, coaching and developing associates, driving continuous improvement, maintaining timekeeping, and ensuring efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred.
• Certified forklift operator.
• Working knowledge of production machines, plant equipment and operations.
• Results-oriented; able to work independently and in a team.
• Aptitude for problem-solving and customer solutions.

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces safety rules, ISO standards and procedures.
• Directs supervision of production staff including recruiting, training and developing associates.
• Uses a Customer Driven approach to achieve KPI targets and engage associates in improvements.
• Leads teams focused on safety, productivity, waste and quality improvements.
• Maintains timekeeping and records for direct reports.
• Manages production schedules, resolves issues and reports results.
• Ensures equipment operation and assists in troubleshooting.
• Compiles production data and creates reports to support decisions.
• Maintains safe, clean work environment and trains associates on equipment use.
• Assists with hands-on operation of machines and forklift as needed.
