Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a 1st Shift Production Supervisor (Finance) to oversee hourly staff and drive safety, quality and productivity across all lines. You will lead operations for a 50-person shift and collaborate with quality and other supervisors to meet daily goals while upholding GMP and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or technical training with at least four years of supervisory experience and strong Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical education or commensurate experience.
• 4+ years of supervisory experience.
• In depth understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience; provide leadership and direction to line personnel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Kronos experience preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
• MES experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, lead and supervise production employees; solving problems before they develop.
• Provide coaching and guidance to line employees; foster an environment to meet daily tasks and goals.
• Champion safety culture.
• Collaborate with other manufacturing supervisors to schedule overtime and execute to labor plan.
• Communicate and follow-up effectively.
• Manage a shift of 50 employees.
• Delegate responsibilities.
• Manage daily production boards and hourly target feedback.
• Observe and evaluate line processes and personnel.
• Lead day-to-day activities including attendance, time/vacation, and assignments.
• Maintain accurate records and employee files.
• Lead continuous improvement projects as assigned.
• All GLC employees adhere to safety policies and GMP/Safe Quality Food program.
