Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Light Industrial Assembler for a contract-to-hire role in Columbus, OH. The position focuses on mechanical assembly, deburring, and cleaning of processing equipment for major bakeries, using hand and power tools in a clean, quiet setting.

The role operates on a first-shift schedule with 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday–Thursday and 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday, with potential early finish Fridays.

Qualifications

• Mechanical assembly experience with motors, rackings, and related systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools including drills, impact tools, tape measures, screwdrivers, hammers, and air tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
• Strong basic math skills, including converting decimals to fractions.
• Ability to work independently for long periods while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Willingness to work 10-hour shifts.
• Experience with deburring metal components.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of industrial processing equipment, including motors, rackings, and related components, according to specifications and work instructions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools such as drills, impact tools, screwdrivers, hammers, and air tools to assemble and secure parts.
• Deburr metal components and clean assembled products to ensure high-quality finishes and safe operation.
• Read and interpret tape measurements accurately, including converting decimals to fractions to ensure precise cutting and assembly.
• Assist with sheet metal fabrication tasks when required, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Work independently for extended periods while maintaining productivity and attention to detail in a quiet manufacturing environment.
