Job summary

Meadville Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to plan, coordinate and direct daily laboratory activities. You will oversee quality control, monitor instrument function and maintenance, and assure the accuracy and timeliness of test results in a first shift with afterhours for system recovery as needed.

The role requires a bachelor's or associate degree in appropriate science fields, and certification with ASCP/AMT is preferred. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree as described in the education section.
• Certification with ASCP, AMT or equivalent is preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (42 CFR 493.1489) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct daily laboratory activities.
• Oversee quality control and instrument maintenance; ensure timely, accurate test results.
• Ensure staff training and competency for moderate to high complexity testing.
• Coordinate with laboratory leadership and ensure compliance with regulatory conditions.
