MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST/MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST
This position is a first shift position with afterhours requirements when system recovery steps are warranted.
In consultation with the laboratory director and manager; plans, coordinates and directs the daily activities listed; oversight of quality control, monitoring instrument function and maintenance, assures the accuracy and timeliness of test results, and performs laboratory tests in an assigned department, following approved procedures. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the designated department to ensure all regulatory conditions are being met. Ensures all techs working in the department are trained and competent to perform moderate to high complexity testing as applicable. Communication, engagement, attention to detail, and problem resolution are foundational elements for this role. Completion or enrollment in a nationally recognized laboratory-oriented leadership course is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical or biological; OR associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training as required by 42CFR493.1489(b). Certification with ASCP, AMT, or one of the national registering bodies is preferred.
