Job summary

Salem School District is seeking a Head Custodian for the first shift to oversee daily custodial operations and coordinate coverage for events at Salem, New Hampshire. Starting immediately, responsibilities include maintaining cleaning schedules, inventories, and security of district properties.

The role requires ability to train staff, perform routine cleaning tasks, and ensure safety and compliance across facilities. Hours typically from 6:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Two years of custodial experience preferred in commercial buildings or facilities.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants and equipment.
• Ability to read signs, labels and work schedules.
• Ability to operate floor care machines safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day to day custodial operations and coordinate coverage for events.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; track usage.
• Inspect premises and secure doors, windows and property.
• Train staff on cleaning techniques and safety for equipment.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks for offices, classrooms and restrooms.
• Keep records of work and communicate with supervisors.
