Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring for a 1st Shift Freight Handler in Wyoming, MI. You’ll support warehouse operations by safely unloading pallets, breaking down product, and organizing pallets for shipping. Training is provided and no prior experience is required.

The position offers a starting pay of $18.60 per hour, with potential raises in the first year, and a Monday–Friday schedule (6am start) with some variability based on volume. Benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Able to work in cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F).
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets from trailers and break down product for pallet configuration.
• Sort inbound freight by item code onto pallets and ensure pallet integrity.
• Identify damaged product and prevent it from entering inventory.
