Job summary

Western Global Airlines seeks a Home‑Based First Officer to serve as second‑in‑command on the B747‑400 or MD‑11, executing global cargo missions safely and efficiently from a home base and while away on 17‑day tours.

You will fly international routes, adhere to company procedures and regulatory requirements, and maintain currency and qualifications as required by DOT/FAA standards.

Qualifications

About the role

Western Global Airlines provides worldwide air‑cargo charter solutions on a high‑tech platform serving e‑commerce, express, freight‑forwarding, logistics, nonprofit, and governmental customers. As a Home‑Based First Officer, you will serve as second‑in‑command on the B747‑400 or MD‑11, executing global missions safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do

• Serve as the flight’s second‑in‑command, exercising sound judgment and adhering to the Captain’s direction.
• Operate in full compliance with Western Global Airlines’ approved/accepted manuals, Operations Specifications, 14 CFR, FAA Orders, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars, and manufacturer guidance.
• Maintain all required currencies and qualifications (e.g., physicals, takeoffs/landings, home‑study courses, airport/route qualifications).
• Uphold standards for pilot flight equipment, uniform discipline, manuals, policies, and procedures.
• Deliver professional, on‑time operations across an international network while away from base for 17‑day tours.

Minimum qualifications

• Current and valid FAA ATP (Unrestricted).
• Valid FAA First‑Class Medical Certificate.
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
• ICAO English Level IV (or higher).
• 2,500+ hours total flight time.
• No history of accidents or incidents.
• Valid U.S. passport permitting unrestricted international travel (required due to military contract obligations).
• Ability to pass a DOT pre‑employment drug test and a 10‑year background check.

Preferred/ideal experience

• Previous Part 121 airline or aviation experience.
• College degree in Aviation or related field.
• Type rating on B747‑400 or another Boeing type; or MD‑11 or Airbus type rating.
• 1,000 hours of flight time under Part 121 operations.
• PIC experience in operations under §135.243(a)(1) or §91.1053(a)(2)(i), or a combination thereof. Up to 500 hours of military PIC time in multiengine, turbine‑powered, fixed‑wing aircraft may count toward the 1,000‑hour requirement.
