Qualifikationen

• USCG Master’s License (100 GRT or greater) required.
• Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification required.
• Radar Observer (Unlimited) and practical radar experience preferred.
• Experience operating or working aboard high-speed vessels preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with vessel maintenance.
• Strong seamanship and situational awareness.
• Positive attitude and strong team mindset.
• Strong communication and leadership potential.

The Role

Rhode Island Fast Ferry is seeking First Mates for our summer season (beginning in May) aboard our high-speed passenger catamarans based in North Kingstown, RI. This is a non-rotational, seasonal position —candidates must be based locally or willing to relocate. Housing is not provided.

As First Mate, you will support the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel while helping lead the onboard crew. This is a hands-on role that combines vessel operations, crew leadership, and maintenance responsibilities in a dynamic, passenger-focused environment.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• USCG Master's License (100 GRT or greater)

• Experience operating or working aboard high-speed vessels (preferred)
