Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking a First-Line Engineering Manager (Level K) for the Digital Infrastructure Segment in Hazelwood, MO.

You will lead the Software Applications and Tools team, collaborating with program leadership, cross-functional engineering teams, IT, suppliers, and tool owners to meet commitments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, Chemistry or related technical discipline.
  • At least one year of leadership or manager experience or equivalent Boeing leadership training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Software Applications and Tools team supporting critical engineering tools and applications.
  • Develop and execute business plans, policies and procedures; set organizational and technical strategies.
  • Acquire resources, oversee suppliers, and drive process improvements.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a First-Line Engineering Manager (Level K) for the Digital Infrastructure Segment (DIS) of a Proprietary Program in Hazelwood, MO.

This position requires a strong leader and communicator that will work closely with program leadership, cross-functional engineering teams, IT, suppliers, tool owners, and other stakeholders to meet AD program common tool & application commitments. The selected leader willbe responsible formanaging theSoftware Applications and Tools team that supports,maintainsand enhances critical engineering tools & applications for a proprietary program.

Position Responsibilities


  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the fields of Process Engineering
  • Develop and execute business plans, policies and procedures and develop organizational and technical strategies
  • Acquire resources, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, Chemistry or related technical discipline
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.

  • Experience working in the field of data-science

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $141,100 - $190,900
