Job summary

NASSCO in Bremerton seeks an experienced welder to perform shipyard welding on tanks and compartments in accordance with job specs. You will work safely with quality and in a professional manner, ensuring all tickets and WAFs are current.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 5+ years of welding experience (NAVSEA preferred), ability to pass FCAW/SMAW/GMAW/GTAW tests, and the stamina to lift 50 lbs and work various shifts. Benefits provided, entry offers typically align with experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years related experience, with at least 2 years NAVSEA-related.
• Possesses standard tools for a welder.
• Ability to work different shifts and read weld symbols/ DWGs.
• Ability to pass FCAW 71T1 .045 wire; SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and aluminum/stainless specs.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform welding per work specs with high quality.
• Maintain safety and quality control on tank/compartments.
• Ensure Work Authorization Form (WAF) is posted and valid.
• Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment as required.
