A leading organization in Tulsa is seeking a First Class Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain various mechanical systems at the Central Library. This full-time role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, performing routine maintenance, and operating HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, with relevant certifications. A valid driver's license and the ability to pass drug screenings are required.
The Tulsa City-County LibraryFirst Class Stationary Engineeroperates and maintains mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment for theCentral Library. The First Class Stationary Engineer performs general labor as well as landscaping, irrigation, janitorial services, cosmetic maintenance, and vehicle fleet maintenance as requested.This is a safety sensitive position.
Location:Central Library – 400 Civic Center, Tulsa, OK. 74103
Status:Full Time
Salary:Starting $24.18 / hr. – $29.62 / hr. wage commensurate with experience.
Preferred Work Schedule:
Monday 11:30 am – 9:30 pm
Tuesday 10 am – 8 pm
Saturday 8 am – 6 pm
Sunday 8 am – 6pm
Some Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Operates, maintains, inspects and repairs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including boilers and chillers;
Assures compliance with City, State and Federal regulations/codes and promotes safe operations of physical plant;
Maintains building life safety and security programs, to include building fire prevention systems;
Assists IT department as needed to install data wiring and computer equipment;
Performs routine maintenance duties such as painting, cleaning, and repairing furnishings and equipment;
Performs the following Safety Sensitive functions:Operation of company owned vehicles, forklift, heavy equipment, machinery, and power tools;
Extracts, compresses, handles and/or transports potentially volatile, flammable, or combustible components;
Repairs, maintains and monitors the performance of equipment and machinery;
City of Tulsa First Class Limited Engineer’s operating license;
Current or ability to acquire EPA Refrigerant Handling Certificate required.
Three years or more directly related experience required, including three or more years of experience in low-pressure boilers, 100+ ton chillers, in refrigeration, and air conditioning systems;
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and good driving record;
Ability to pass a pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen and continuing random drug screenings post-hire.
