Summary: To set up and operate machine tool, to include conventional lathes, Bridgeports, millers, grinders, saws, drills, and auxiliary equipment to fabricate parts and components for all manufacturing equipment and ball mold cups.

Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate parts and tooling cups using various equipment such as bridgeports grinders, and millers.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as scales, micrometers, vernier calipers, depth micrometers.
  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders.
  • Measure examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.

Requirements:
  • Vocational school graduate of Machine Shop or Machine Tool Technology or equivilent secondary school curriculum is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in the Machinist trade is required.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of blueprint reading. Using mathematics to solve problems. Equipment selection, determining the kind of tools or equipment needed to do a job. Be proficient in handling the current and latest tools at his disposal, from hand and measuring paraphernalia to machine tools.
  • Should work well with others and have communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Should have analytical and problem-solving skills. Active listening skills. Able to create a 3-D mental image prior to the manufacturing of the product.
