Job description

Job Title: Machinist

Summary: To set up and operate machine tools, including conventional lathes, Bridgeports, mills, grinders, saws, drills, and auxiliary equipment to fabricate parts and components for manufacturing equipment and ball mold cups.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fabricate parts and tooling cups using equipment such as bridgeports, grinders, and millers.
  2. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and instruments like scales, micrometers, vernier calipers, and depth micrometers.
  3. Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  4. Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
  5. Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
  6. Monitor machine feed and speed during operations.
  7. Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  8. Inspect and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments.

Requirements:

  1. Vocational school graduate in Machine Shop or Machine Tool Technology or equivalent secondary school curriculum.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Machinist trade.
  3. Proficiency in blueprint reading, mathematics, equipment selection, and use of current tools and machine tools.
  4. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, active listening, and ability to visualize 3-D models prior to manufacturing.
