Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is hiring aFirst Assistant Surgical Technologist to function as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures. You will assist OR staff in the assigned room/case and prepare sterile instruments, supplies and equipment in the role of scrub tech.

Maintain a sterile field, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, and support the procedure as required. This full-time, on-site position emphasizes credentialed perioperative practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program is required.
• Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by Piedmont sponsor during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures.
• Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case.
• Facilities the procedure by preparing and providing sterile instruments, supplies and equipment as scrub tech.
• Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.

Education

First Assistant program completion or competency verified by sponsoring Piedmont surgeon
