Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, Associate degree or equivalent; 3-4 year related experience.
• Degree preference in agronomy/horticulture/plant/soil science.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Superintendent to ensure the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans are maintained and followed.
• Supervises and assists maintenance staff in daily duties.
• Assists in planning, organizing and directing maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervises planting and cultural practices of turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants.
• Ensures construction equipment is properly maintained.
• Assists in procurement of supplies and materials within budget.
• Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs and assists with reports.
• Coordinates snow removal (location depending).
• Ensures policies/procedures are followed including regulatory compliance.
• Ensures associates obtain proper licenses and addresses environmental concerns.
• Manages department staff such as Mechanics, Greenskeepers, Irrigation Technicians.
• Delivers orientation and training; develops ongoing programs.
• Monitors manpower, productivity, costs and expenses with volume forecasts.
• Promotes safe work practices in performance.
