Job summary

Ace Hardware seeks a capable First Assistant Manager to lead daily store operations and mentor the assistant management team.

You will bridge the gap to Store Manager responsibilities, drive customer experience, inventory accuracy, and safety compliance while delivering on sales goals and people development.

This role requires flexibility for evenings/weekends and a track record of developing talent to readiness for Store Manager succession.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of retail leadership experience.
• Ability to lead and develop multi-level teams.
• Strong financial awareness and P&L understanding.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiarity with Ace Hardware systems and ACE.com.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations and manage all shifts.
• Supervise and coach store leadership team.
• Backfill store roles across eight departments.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and merchandising standards.
• Drive inventory accuracy and POS/payroll processes.
• Support store manager in financial planning and succession readiness.
