Job summary

HiredFirst is seeking a Certified First Assist to act as a surgical first assistant for a 13-week assignment in Parker, AZ. The role requires in-office collaboration with surgeons, ensuring sterile technique and instrument handling throughout procedures.

The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician Program and a First Assist Program, with current certification and BLS. Two years of experience as a Surgical Technician is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technician Program and First Assist Program.
• Current Certification as Surgical Technician/First Assist; BLS certification required.
• Typically two years of Surgical Technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during operations as a surgical first assistant.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with instrument handling.
• Perform room turnover and setup prior to procedures.
• Follow steam sterilization procedures and monitor instruments/equipment.
• Complete OR counts accurately and report discrepancies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure equipment readiness for procedures.
