Job summary

Orlando Health ORMC in Orlando, FL seeks a First Assistant to support the surgeon during procedures, applying knowledge of anatomy and physiology to help ensure safe operations and optimal patient outcomes.

You will perform circulating or scrub duties under direct supervision, assist with positioning, draping, suturing, instrument handling and hemostasis as required, and maintain sterile technique and infection control.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Certificate of successful completion of an accredited First Assistant training course.
• State of Florida RN licensure or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• Maintains current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during procedures with knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Position, drape, suture, and provide exposure as directed by the surgeon.
• Maintain asepsis and infection control; use suction and retractors as needed.
• Perform circulating or scrub duties as required by case and supervision.
