Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) including Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to work in the hospital-based operating room as a surgical first assist. The role involves performing invasive procedures and requires a high level of independent clinical decision-making.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree, BLS, and NCCPA certification. Work shift is variable with 40 hours weekly in the CTS Grant department.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree is required.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association.
  • NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Works under direction in collaboration with the supervising physician in practice.
  • Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives.
  • Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician.
  • Practices within state laws, applicable boards, and delineation of privileges.

Job Description Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) including Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), work in collaboration with the cardiothoracic surgeon in the hospital-based operating room, serving as a surgical first assist. Performs invasive procedures and requires a high level of independent clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities And Duties:
  • Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician and may perform services authorized by the supervising/collaborating physician that are part of the physician's normal course of practice and expertise.
  • Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives.
  • Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice.
  • Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
