Job summary

Phillips Medisize, a Molex company, is seeking an experienced Article First Inspector to support manufacturing operations, provide timely and accurate dimensional information to engineering, troubleshoot problem areas, and train staff on measuring equipment. This first shift role is based in Phillips, WI.

You will perform first article inspections, measure parts, create measurement work instructions, and participate in continual improvement activities using CMM and other precision tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of quality related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Complete first article inspection per customer specifications and maintain appropriate records.
• Responsible for measuring parts and reporting findings to engineering for validation.
• Identify measurement methods and create measurement work instructions.
• Design go/no go gauges and holding fixtures with Quality/Engineering.
• Coordinate, perform and maintain PPC calibration procedures.
• Verify tool changes and process dimensions after tool modifications.
• Perform dimensional layout on tooling, pads, fixtures, and gauges.
• Utilize statistic software and Microsoft software.
• Perform capabilities studies and gauge R&R analysis with reports.
• Understand and utilize geometric tolerancing.
• Extended travel to other facilities may be required.
• Participate in continual improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives.

Phillips-Medisize, a Molex company, is seeking an experienced Article First Inspector to support manufacturing operations, provide timely and accurate dimensional information to engineering; to troubleshoot problem areas; and train people on measuring equipment. The position will be based out of the Phillips WI, location.

This role isfirstshift – Hours Mon-Fri7am-3pm

What You Will DoInYour Role

• Complete first article inspection per customer specifications and maintain appropriate records
• Responsible for measuring parts and reporting any findings to engineering for submission to customer in support of all validation activities or as otherwise requested
• Identifies the appropriate measurement method and creates measurement work instructions
• Design go/no go gauges and holding fixtures in conjunction with Quality Engineer/Engineering
• Coordinate, perform and maintain PPC calibration procedures
• Verify tool changes and process dimensions after tool modifications
• Perform complete or partial dimensional layout on tooling, pad print tooling, inspection fixtures, and gauges
• Utilize appropriate statistic software as well as Microsoft software
• Perform capabilities studies, gauge repeatability and reproducibility analysis, along with provide statistical reports reflecting process control, process capability and gauge repeatability
• Understand and utilize geometric tolerancing
• Extended travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs
• Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction

The Experience You Will Bring: Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of quality related experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints

What Will Put You Ahead

• Technical degree in precision measurement or equivalent education and experience
• Demonstrable working knowledge of CMM (coordinate measuring machine), Vision System and other precision measuring equipment
• Ability to apply SPC (Statistical Process Control) and GD (Geometric Dimensioning) and T (Tolerancing)
