Overview

This First Article Inspection auditor position is an excellent opportunity for recent retirees or consultants with experience preparing, reviewing, or approving First Article Inspection Reports. Our auditors enjoy traveling domestically and/or internationally, a flexible schedule (some auditors perform 1 or 2 audits a month, while others desire to audit every week), and competitive compensation that includes a daily rate plus travel expenses. Qualifications
  • A minimum of four (4) years in the aerospace industry within the last ten (10) years.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in oversight, preparation, review, and/or approval of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to the AS9102 Standard.
  • 9100 Quality Management Systems Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations (current revision) Lead Auditor training.
  • Or ISO9001 - Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor training AND 9100 - Quality Management Systems Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations (current revision) training.
  • Recent experience to include inspection of mechanical/structural assemblies, machined parts, sheet metal parts, castings, forgings and/or Avionics systems (AV&MS).
  • Understanding of Aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • Second or third-party auditing experience as the auditor.
  • A working understanding of blueprint reading, specifications, and purchase orders.
  • Experience in the use of general inspection hand tools (e.g., calipers, go-no go gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, height gauges, micrometers, etc.).
