Position Summary
First Aid / EMT Team Members are responsible for responding to medical incidents and providing prompt, professional patient care to guests and team members. This role supports a safety-conscious environment by delivering high-quality emergency medical care, accurate documentation, and clear communication with park leadership and Base Operations. Team Members in this position are expected to maintain a calm, professional presence while delivering excellent care and guest service.
Skills, Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must possess a valid Washington State EMT or Paramedic license
- Strong first responder and patient care skills
- Strong guest service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Ability to communicate professionally with guests, coworkers, management, and emergency responders
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
General Duties & Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional care to guests and team members
- Follow all guest service standards and code of conduct guidelines outlined in the Team Member Handbook
Safety
- Support Wild Waves’ safety-first culture by promoting a safe environment and identifying potential hazards
Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with park leadership, Base Operations, and fellow team members
Cleanliness
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work areas, including medical spaces and equipment
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Medical Response: Respond to medical incidents and provide care within the scope of EMT or Paramedic certification, including patient assessment and treatment
- Care Escalation: Assess situations and determine when additional care or outside emergency services are required
- Communication: Clearly communicate incident details to Management and Base Operations teams
- Reporting: Complete accurate, detailed, and timely incident reports while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Office Presence: Maintain a consistent presence in the First Aid office unless actively responding to a medical call
- Emergency Procedures: Maintain knowledge of Emergency Action Procedures and respond appropriately during emergencies
- Equipment & Facility Care: Maintain cleanliness and organization of First Aid offices, restrooms, department carts, and back-of-house areas
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned based on department and park needs
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
- Occasional climbing or balancing
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Work is primarily outdoors and subject to varying weather conditions
- Noise levels may range from moderate to high
