Job summary

Schweitzer Mountain Resort is seeking a seasonal team member to manage the aid room and provide patient care to OEC standards for guests and employees at the resort.

Responsibilities include care in the aid room, possible advanced life support assistance, and coordination of transport and information for families. RN license and avalanche training are required, with strong English communication skills essential.

Qualifications

• RN license or eligibility required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; first aid and avalanche training required.
• English reading, writing and communication skills required.
• Prior National Ski Patrol experience preferred.

• Provide care and comfort to injured guests and employees in the Ski Patrol Aid Room and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with advanced life support therapies under physician direction.
• Assist with transportation and information needs for families and others accompanying patients.

Position Summary: Manage aid room and provide patient care to OEC standards of care for guests and employees at resort.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

• Provide care and comfort to injured guests and employees. This care is primarily provided in the Ski Patrol Aid Room; however, occasionally it may be necessary to respond to emergencies elsewhere in the base area or on the mountain.
• May also assist with advance life support therapies under direction of physician.
• Also assist with transportation and information needs to family and others accompanying patients to hospital or home.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and complete incident reports, as well as coordination of physician statements of treatments and referrals.
• While on duty, must be available by radio when away from the aid room.

Specific Job Skills

License/Certifications- RN license.

Technical- None

Physical Capabilities- Up to 25 lbs frequently, 100 lbs occasionally and extended periods on feet.

Additional- First aid skills including assessment, bandaging, splinting

Education/Related Experience

Minimum education required- English reading, writing and communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent, first aid and avalanche training required.

Minimum time in related position- Prior National Ski Patrol experience preferred.
