Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Firmware Systems Engineer II/III to lead systems engineering for complex military electronic systems. You will translate requirements into firmware/software designs, model architectures, and collaborate across software, hardware, and test teams to ensure performance and reliability.

Ideal candidates will have a formal engineering degree, 2+ years of related experience, and MBSE experience with SysML in Cameo/MagicDraw; DOORS for requirements management is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related discipline with 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience communicating effectively in written and spoken English.
• Ability to interface professionally with customers and stakeholders.
• MBSE experience with SysML models in Cameo/MagicDraw; DOORS for requirements management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering activities for complex electronic systems with firmware/software control from design through production.
• Translate customer needs into functional and technical requirements; allocate requirements.
• Model system architecture and decompose electrical system design; conduct trade studies.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, firmware, and test teams to optimize performance and reliability.
• Support integration, verification, and validation with design engineers; prepare test plans and reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and compliance with requirements.
